After the Storm

This was one of the last photos I took before the monsoon dumped on me.  I was at a high point here. Lightning was a few miles behind me however, I was not going to make it back to shelter.  I thought about all the places I could go to in this predicament that I found myself in.  Hanging out high grounds is not a great idea because of lightning.  Going to the bottom, just as bad because of flash flooding.  Staying some where in the middle is what I did.  I found a huge boulder with a little gap big enough for a backpack to fit in, to stash myself.  I pressed my body against the boulder as flat as I could make it.  The storm was strong, the winds carried the rain almost sideways.  The boulder did a great job until the storm past.  Then I found myself getting soaked from rains caught in some sort of blow back or circulation pattern.
